Overview

The Legal League 100,a consortium of default servicing and financial services law firms from across the industry, was created in collaboration with the Five Star Institute in April 2007 with a purpose of providing mortgage banking leaders with a reliable, results-driven resource that assists in identifying top law firms specializing in mortgage servicing and default practices.

This semi-annual event, open only to lenders, servicers, GSEs, and members, will be hosted concurrently with the Five Star to allow the servicing community to converge with its nationwide counsel and hone in on the latest issues and policy impacting a swift housing recovery.  RSVPs required.

A discussion of the most common defenses to foreclosure being asserted by borrowers, and strategies for defeating these claims.

The Foreclosure Forum - Where Do We Stand?
No panel. No curriculum. Lenders, servicers, GSEs: this is your chance to ask the tough questions. This freestyle-forum super session will touch on the state of foreclosure processing in the wake of “robo-signing” and the government loss mitigation programs.

12:45–2:00 p.m. – Private Legal League 100 Keynote Luncheon featuring a Keynote Address by Todd Barton of Fannie Mae

2:15–3:30 p.m. – Roundtables II

Bankruptcy 2012
A discussion of current bankruptcy topics in a new era that has mortgage servicers facing an unprecedented level of scrutiny.

A look of the pros and cons of seeking removal when litigating mortgage origination or default issues.
